In addition to his service in the U.S. Air Force, his education includes an Associate degree from Bismarck State College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Dickinson State University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota. Prior to becoming the State Auditor, he served as the Accounting Manager for the North Dakota Public Service Commission, he also has experience serving in project management with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.  

With a commitment to serving the community, Josh has been a part of numerous volunteer roles over the past two decades, volunteering for clean-up weeks in the community and food drives for those in need. He is also proud to serve on the board of directors for the Western ND Honor Flight which transports America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit veteran memorials.  

Under Josh’s leadership, his office has been awarded numerous national awards for communications excellence. Additionally, his team has been recognized as a Top 10 Workplace by the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network, as well as a 50 Best Places to Work by Prairie Business Magazine. 

Josh and his wife Becky live in Bismarck and have two daughters, Brooklyn and Sasha.
